Can I get a music scholarship if I am not planning on majoring in music?

Can I apply for a voice, guitar, or piano scholarship if I am an intended music therapy or non-music major?
Only vocal performance, choral education, guitar performance, guitar (general) education, piano performance, and piano pedagogy majors are eligible to apply for voice, guitar, or piano scholarships.
Is auditioning scary?
Auditioning can be an intimidating process. To eliminate unnecessary anxiety for auditioning, sign up for a time early and review the audition requirements. Prepare the required material as far in advance as possible so you can be secure and confident. It is a good idea to practice performing your audition material for family and friends. Also try recording yourself. Another way to ease your anxiety is to be in contact with the professors over your area of interest and meet them in person before your audition date, if you can. You will find that the faculty here at USU are interested in the students and are not just amazing teachers, but really neat people as well.
What if I can't make it to the audition day for my instrument?
Contact the faculty over your area to schedule a time that will work, or ask the faculty over your area if you can send a DVD or CD recording in place of a live audition. Keep in mind that a live audition is greatly preferred over a recording, because a live audition gives you an opportunity to meet the faculty as well.
Do I need to dress up for my audition?
Yes. It is important to show the auditioning committee that you are serious, so anything you can do to make a good impression is helpful.
Can I warm up before my audition?
Arrive to your audition at least 45 minutes early to warm up. Practice rooms are available.
