Opera Theatre

The USU Opera Theatre offers students the opportunity to participate in a fully-staged opera every semester under exceptional directors from across the country and around the world.  Performances take place in the Historic Caine Lyric Theatre on center street in downtown Logan.  The Opera Theatre has been an excellent starting place for young opera students; many of whom have gone on to study opera at some of the nation's finest graduate schools and conservatories and later to enjoy a lucrative operatic career with prominent opera companies around the world.  In the beginning of the semester, students rehearse with Dr. Lynn-Jemison Keisker, director of the Opera program, and later with a guest director funded by the Marie Eccles-Caine Foundation.  The Opera Program is excited to announce its upcoming collaboration with the USU Theatre Department in an production of Sweeney Todd by Stephen Sondheim in spring 2010.
